I want to download rather than play an .wmv file. I cannot find where the setting is that causes firefox to play the file rather than download it.

Additionally my firefox is apparently set to let my organization control my settings. I have not organization even though this appears to be limiting what I can do with some settings. how do I change this?

Is this a Institution or company computer? There alot of missing info for others to know what is happening here and what site are you talking about this .wmv file at?

Do .wmv files fit into any category listed under Settings > General > Files and Applications > Applications? If not, see this article:

It seems you have a policy document, possibly created by security software. Enter about:policies in the address bar and post the contents here.

You can set this pref to false on the about:config page to prevent Firefox from playing media files you open in a tab via the HTML5 media player.
