Firefox downloading random files instead of the files i need

when i try and download something from some websites, it doesnt actually download what its supposed to but just a file called random numbers without any file extension or anything, or alternatively a damaged version of what its supposed to download. ive never had this glitch happen before and it doesnt happen to me on other browsers like edge or chrome. does anybody know how to fix it? (i am on windows 11 if that helps with anything)

Without a example problem url that others can verify the issue your having no one is going to know what is happening with the download your trying to download.
