windows update causing firefox to hang

After windows does an update firefox starts to hang, repeatedly freezing and needing closed and reopened to get it to temporarily work again. There doesn't seem to be an rhyme nor reason to this and if I go back to the restore point prior to the last windows update it starts working again fine. There clearly is something in it that is causing firefox problems, does anyone know what it is and how to fix beyond using an un-updated version of windows?

Sometimes Windows updates can damage Firefox or prevent Firefox from operating properly. Can you please provide us with the update code (usually KB#########) of the Windows updates that you are trying to install?
