I can't get or send emails using Thunderbird.
I'm in Mexico. I'm able to send and receive emails just fine through my two accounts at home in the US. But here in Mexico, with my Verizon account, I can't send or receive messages (though I can do both just fine by going to their website). Also, with my 1and1.com account, I can receive messages using Thunderbird but I can't send them (though, again, both work fine by going to the 1and1.com website).
When I try to send a message using the account that works for receiving them, I get an error message saying my login failed. But my login is fine.
I'm hearing that ports are blocked here in Mexico but haven't gotten any results by calling 1and1 or Verizon to fix this. Anybody know what I can do to use Thunderbird here for my email?

You'd need to provide more details about the problem. Do you get any error message?

That's quite possible, but again, you'd need to provide more details of what you're hearing.
It isn't uncommon that ports for POP/IMAP and SMTP are blocked e.g. in hotels or WiFi providers. But this is nothing Verizon can help you with, nor anyone else here. You'd need to talk to your local provider.

My local provider, the guy who owns the ISP, was here 2 days ago and said they don't block ports. He said it must be a problem with Verizon and 1and1!
Yesterday I spent an hour (another hour, about the 5th one) with Verizon, who checked all the same settings and concluded it was a local problem and told me to talk to my local provider.
Everybody's pointing fingers at other people!
The error message is attached, below. BTW, the very first thing I did was to plug in my password and then I changed it, to be sure I had the right one. I'm putting in the right one, but it keeps getting rejected. Everyone is concluding that this is a port problem.

You said you spent another hour with Verizon and posted a screenshot with the 1and1.com error. What's the error you get from Verizon?

I did not conclude that this is a port problem.
Right. Sorry -- I've loaded the Verizon one below. You're making me realize that I actually get two separate responses from the two accounts 1) the Verizon one just times out (see below) and 2) the 1and1 account send me the password error message.
For both accounts, I can go to the providers' websites and things work fine there.
Here's the troubleshooting info below -- I can't seem to upload it in any easier-to-read format. Let me know if you need something different, please.

You have two 1and1 accounts. Which one is the troubled one? SMTP for account 3 doesn't look right to me.
Wrt Verizon, are the server settings as shown in the Troubleshooting information correct? I've also seen pop.verizon.net and smtp.verizon.net, but I have no confirmation for that. Please confirm with Verizon. Ideally they should have a support web site with the correct settings.
