For several years I have used Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0.0.24 as my email program. Recently, for several days, no new emails showed up in my inbox. Version 2 is totally obsolete, and does contain some fairly large security bugs. So to avoid being like typoid Mary, I suggest you stay with Version 38. There are some major changes from Version 2 to be sure, but if you really dislike them most can be done away with.
