how do i get rid of it. its a scam thing and i got tricked in to it. also whenever i use google, this explore search engine pops up and i dont want to use it because its associated with GetDislike. help please

-> Copy all of this in a MS Word file

-> Close All Web Browsers -> go to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs and Uninstall GetDislike or suspicious Programs

-> go to C:\Program Files\ -> go to Unknown/Suspicious Folders -> If you find any Uninstaller files, Run them and then Delete the Folders

-> Start Firefox in Safe Mode

-> Clear Cookies & Cache

-> Test for Faulty Add-ons

-> Uninstalling Add-ons

-> Cannot Uninstall an Add-on

-> In the Address bar, type about:config and press Enter -> When you see a warning, click I'll be careful, I promise!

  • In the Filter bar, type keyword.URL
  • Right-click on keyword.URL preference and select Reset
  • Close about:config tab

-> Search bar ---- Remove any Unwanted/Suspicious Search Engines

-> Close Firefox (click Firefox button and click Exit) -> Restart Firefox

Check and tell if its working. After all of this, Do a MALWARE check with these Malware Scanning programs to ensure that your system is not infected. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you UPDATE each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

-> SuperAntispyware

-> Windows Defender Home Page

-> Spybot Search & Destroy

-> Ad-Aware Free

thanks for that. i decided to clean my laptop by restoring it to its factory image. but i used the steps you gave me and it did work so ill keep those in mind. thanks
