I can't change the name of one of my firefox profiles. I have an error where the name is too long and it cannot be changed. Is there any way to do this other than creating a new profile and deleting the old one?

Why would you want to rename the profile on the hard drive as that is usually not recommended because files can have an absolute reference to files?

How did you initially create this profile? Did you copy it from a backup? What is the full profile name, is there a timestamp appended due to a refresh ?
