I just got a new computer and installed the latest version of firefox. When I type a website into the url bar and hit enter, nothing happens. I have to use the mouse to click the arrow to get to the website. The enter key works for chrome, and it works on my old computer in firefox-- both have the latest versions. How do I get it to work on this new computer? Thanks!

hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

You can try Safe Mode anyway as it is possible that some extensions are added automatically.

You can use one of these to start Firefox in Safe Mode:

  • Windows: hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox
  • Mac: hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
  • Help -> Restart with Add-ons Disabled

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen or hold down the Shift key) to see if that has effect.
