This is in relation to the actual profile folder in .thunderbird/xxxxxxxx.default/

I connected multiple email accounts to Thunderbird, then moved emails to my Local Folders, then removed the email accounts from within Thunderbird. However, there are still multiple pop and imap folders within my profile folder taking up several gigabytes worth of space. Should these delete themselves after a while? Is it safe to delete them myself?

I've tried compacting the folders but it doesn't help.

Any thoughts?
