Is 50 MB the size of the places.sqlite file that stores bookmarks and history or is that the file size of a bookmarks backup (JSON or HTML)?

What is the file size of the backups in the bookmarkbackups folder?

When i'm exporting the bookmark file, it's the bookmark.html file, and there are probably around 100 000 (just a guess)

Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Enter the bookmarkbackups folder. This is where Firefox makes backups of your bookmarks. Please take a snapshot showing the names, dates created, and file size. Then post it here.

The size of the HTML file would depend on whether you use favicons or not. Those icons take up a lot of space. I block them, and my bookmarks.html file is 233 KB.

How many bookmarks do you have for 233 KB ? I think the favicon is sort of useful

Those .jsonlz4 files names have numbers over 30 000 in them, is that the number of actual bookmarks? The latest one is dated with today's date

I have 815 bookmarks. If you have thousands, maybe the file would be 2 or 3 MB or so without favicons.
