My firefox bookmarks have disappeared. Restore doesn't work

I upgraded Firefox yesterday. My bookmarks have been purged. The online directions to go to bookmark restore don't work, because all of the dates prior to today are also gone. Second problem, is that every page I go to is being automatically bookmarked. Like a history. I can find nothing on line about this.

Anyone know what I need to do?

Hi, sorry you lost your bookmarks. Please check your Desktop though for a Folder Called OldFirefoxProfile if it is there we possibly can recover something. If not am afraid they are gone. fyi for the future Always :

As for what is going on. Will leave this for a bit to see if anyone else has a answer for you. Reply back though about the Folder, yes/no so that this will be moved from Replied to Attention Needed.
