Hi All,

My old computer trashed. I cannot export anything. I have a good backup image to work from. The old and new Profiles are different; I cannot copy the old profile to the new installation. I have been copying selected components, but I cannot find the Bookmarks. Where are Bookmarks stored? What is the file name?

re: The old and new Profiles are different;

It would be useful to know what you mean by this. My Profile folder has hardly changed (except new folders and newer emaisl) in the last couple of years.

I'm wondering if you are using the correct profile info. There are no bookmarks in Thunderbird, but they do exist in Firefox. You cannot put Firefox profile folders into Thunderbird.

Typically, if using Windows OS, the Profile folder is stored here: C:\Users\Windows user name\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\Profile name\

The AppData folder is folder is a hidden folder; to show hidden folders, open a Windows Explorer window and choose "Organize → Folder and Search Options → Folder Options → View (tab) → Show hidden files and folders".

Hi Toad,

That's what happens when you work into the wee hours. Should be the Firefox forum.
