FF 129.0.1, on 64-bit Windows 10

while troubleshooting why a child page (which has links, text boxes) acts like it is displaying an image, not a working web page, I opened Settings, and at the top of the first page found the image (via Screenshot) attached -- "Your browser is being managed by your organization". thing is, this is a personal laptop which has never been part of an organization. is it referring to FF, since the program was in 'Troubleshoot Mode' at the time?

Regarding the parent page/child page issue, suggestions are welcome (solutions even more so ;-) )

Hello, Firefox is my browser of choice for privacy and accessibility reasons. However, the speech recognition software I have been provided (Dragon professional 16) requires an extension to be installed that Firefox does not allow.

I was given the following information by Nuance, the company who manufacture the software: "The Dragon Professional web extension for Firefox is not anymore supported in Dragon 16 as Mozilla has blocked this web extension quoting a violation of their toughened security guidelines and requirements for such browser extensions on 10.06.2023 with the release of Firefox v105.

The reinstallation of the respective XPI file does not resolve the issue, especially because there is - and likely will be for the time being - no new adaptation of the web extension available.

However, our web extension should work fine if you decide to opt out of blocking extensions that have been listed as potentially dangerous by Mozilla. On your own risk you can prevent Firefox from carrying out the blocklist by changing the appropriate setting in the browser's configuration ("about:config") but Nuance does not recommend this. Further information is available from Mozilla."

If anyone can help with this, as I need the software for accessibility reasons and I don't want to be forced onto another browser because of it.

I can click on location (currently Kingfisher, OK) and then in the menu my location comes up (Mansfield, MO)but when I open a new tab Kingfisher is still there. I have done this many times, still reverts to Kingfisher

How do I either stop videos from autoplaying or auto repeating? Either one would be a blessing but I've searched and cannot find an effective way to do it. Blocking in Firefox is not effective. Mostly it seems in facebook, but I believe it repeats all the time on all sites.

I've read through lots of instructions, and tried to list a site as an exception to the ad blocker, but it doesn't seem to work. The site that I want to be able to contact me is Rakuten.com. Please help. This seems so complicated.

downloading only produces " .part " files in my downloads directory. I had previously attempted a large file download but error message said it was not completed. Now cannot download anything

I tried changing my color contrast settings to "never" BUT STILL, this thing still has a solid color. i'm making a web page, i tried using neocities, strawpages rn and also i visited other sites and they keep getting the same solid color problem, im tired. you can see how when im editing my site it has a anime girl background but then when i visit my page itself i dont see anything, i know eveyone can see it but im the creator and it really bothers me.

In the Privacy & Security pane we have the following configuration

Clear history when Firefox closes with all items selected except for Site Settings. Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed with some exceptions in Manage Exceptions.

But after quitting and re-launching Firefox there frequently entries for random websites shown in the "Manage Data..." pane.

This seems to related to having Facebook Container and Firefox Multi-Account Containers extensions installed. It does not seem to happen when they are not present. Interestingly. we had been using a a very similar Firefox configuration on a legacy Intel macOS system without this issue. We began seeing it while setting-up a fresh installation of Firefox on a new Apple Silicon system with macOS Ventura. The issue was reproduced in a new profile. It continues to the present day with up the current version of Firefox 129.01 on macOS 14.6.1 I feel like this is probably a bug but I don't have the necessary skill to make an effective bug report.

I want you to let the control key free for me to use as I have always done for other programs. Why did you took direct control of that key? It always opens a new window I do not need. I use control key plus c key to open another program and now I cannot open it with its own keys combination: control-c-c. Please, tell me how to disable it and stop it opening a new Firefox window. How do I change the order links open in new tabs? So far I've only found two orders they open in: X, X, O, X Using the above as an example, O will serve as the active tab that multiple links are being opened from. The only two orders I have found tabs will open on desktop are as follows: X, X, O, X, 1, 2, 3, 4 X, X, O, 1, 2, 3, 4, X But the order I am looking to achieve is the same order that the mobile app opens links in which is as follows: X, X, O, 4, 3, 2, 1, X I have already tried all combinations of the advanced settings "browser.tabs.insertAfterCurrent" and "browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent" but still have not been able to achieve the desired order.

Pressing Alt in Firefox in Linux (Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Linux Mint 22.xx) brings up a top menu, which is hugely annoying as I'm always trying to to a window action if I'm pressing Alt.

The suggested solution is to go to about:config and change ui.key.menuAccessKeyFocuses to "false".

But this keeps reverting itself. (Between every other reboot?). Alt will again bring up this menu.

How can I permanently disable this shortcut?

I was a dumbass and clicked the "Do not ask me again" checkbox for a website setting that I definitely need to be asked each time I try to delete something. How do I go back and undo that?

This morning, for the first time, I closed my Firefox browser and a whole new page showed up, mostly advertising from rightdailyfeed.com -- I didn't request this and I don't want to see it again. Did Firefox impose this content on me without asking my permission? The site I had been using was https://news.google.com/topstories; did they do this to me? How do I prevent another such intrusion of such garbage?

Hey! In order to improve my workflow on MacOS which has menu bar item search (through the "Help" menu item or through external programs), I want to be able to add custom items to the list of menu items.

Some of the things I'm missing from other browsers: - Pin tab item in menu bar - Search open tabs in menu bar

I am aware that keyboard shortcuts exist, but I'm leaning more towards a command palette for my workflow.

Basically when I click an image, it shows up in full screen instead of on the side like I'd like it to. Once I click the 'x' at the top right, it has appeared at the right side like it's supposed to. Is there a setting I can change to stop this from happening. Everytime this happens, the preview is always low quality so it looks bad. An example is the Panda image provided. Thanks.

This is relatively new. i have ALWAYS set my search settings so that it only shows my bookmarks and previously visited websites, and i have NEVER visited mozilla.org before now. i even install Firefox from an installer i get from a DIFFERENT PC.

So why now is Mozilla.org coming up as the FIRST result when i type the letter "M" on the keyboard?

i checked in Settings, under Search, and "Search Suggestions" are all unchecked, and the only things under "Address Bar" that are checked are "Browsing History" and "Bookmarks". And i already checked my bookmarks and deleted the newly added "Mozilla" folder (which must have been put there after an update), and History is empty, save for my few visited sites. Firefox is also set to "Never Remember History", so any NEW wesbite visits get wiped out after closing the window.

After typing "m", when mozilla.org came up in the results, i have hit Shift + Delete to remove it from the list, but as soon as i type "m" again, it's right back there!

i realize that it is self-serving for Mozilla to have themselves as a recommendation, but it clutters my view when i am looking for MY URLs; the ones that i visit regularly.

am i missing something? please tell me there is a way to turn this off...
