I can not stop download

There is a website, when I visit there, Firefox (3.6 and version 4 both) starts downloading a file. Every time I have to cancel the download (.exe) file. I could not find any option in Firefox where I can disable download option.

I remember in I.E. it is possible to disable download without user permission.

Does it mean I also have to use I.E., along with FireFox. I think Firefox is missing this security feature, which is already built in IE.

All download options are in Startup, home page, tabs, and download settings.

For actions on download entries, check out Where to find and manage downloaded files in Firefox.

You can try to block the script that initiates the download with NoScript.

NoScript: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/722

Well, nothing is working. Even all scripting is blocked with all sort of add-ons presented. This is not about the file downloaded because of some script running.

Scoobi I did not ask you to explain how download works and what its options do. Thanks any way you tried.

This is one thing, FireFox can not compete with I.E. I did not check the Chrome, though.
