I have a Acer aspire A0751H my defualt home page is http://m.www.yahoo.com/ this page does not display properly. The graphcs are missing and the text that is below the graphics is compressed. Running XP, Sarfari and I/E work fine.

That is a Mobile device (like a cell phone) version of that Yahoo website. Drop the "m" from that URL and see how the page looks.

Nope still fails using http://www.yahoo.com/ a number of other pages have the same problem

Try clearing your cache:

1. On the menu bar, click Tools|Options

2. Click the Advanced Panel

3. On the Network Tab , click Clear now

Test for the problem

Clearing cache - no help same probem

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings". See "Firefox connection settings" in Server Not Found - Troubleshoot connection problems

You can find the connection setting here: Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy'
