Before downloads were indicated with an downward arrow: very easy. Now they appear as a WPS Office document: very disturbing.

It must have somehow installed itself when receiving that mail. I could locate the WPS file and have uninstalled it. Thanks so much!

Hi Eddy

What files are you trying to download and where are you downloading them from? Can you share a link?

Hi Seburo, Any downloads from the internet via Firefox, e.g. official downloads on government tax. But it goes farther then that. On receiving a mail with a document attached, some months ago the whole WPS Office package came with it. Ever since I have the above nuisance but also when I open a Word or Excel document it opens in WPS Office; I always need to specify “open with Word”.

Do you have WPS Office installed on your Android device?

i have a subscription for Microsoft Office and I certainly did not install WPS Office. Nevertheless it keeps popping up.

What do you mean when you mentioned that the "whole WPS Office package came with it"?

Unless WPS Office is installed on your device, your device will not know about WPS Office. Removing it or opening the files with another office app on your Android device and setting that as the default option will change this.
