Youtube getting ads past Adblock

Hey guys,

I have noticed a disturbing trend today. I use Adblock Plus and have pretty much since I first became aware of the extension way back in the day. However today I have noticed white screens popping up on Youtube on certain videos, which seem to indicate they are ads. I have the option to skip them before they even play, but I shouldn't be seeing this at all, so far as I'm aware. I certainly haven't seen it until this evening...or I guess it's now early Tuesday morning as I post this. Is anyone else having this issue, and if so, is Adblock Plus aware of it? I've been very happy with Adblock Plus, and I'm genuinely worried about what this means for them. Can anyone help explain why I'm seeing this? I am including a screenshot of the phenomena.

Bear in mind up till about ten minutes or so prior to this post, I have never seen this. The videos would normally play as they should without ads or this odd screen whatsoever. In fact, some videos still do play without this screen popping up at all. This is why I'm a little worried about this. Can we get some idea of how this is being dealth with?

Hello Marc7,

I'm getting that same "Skip Ads" since a couple of weeks   (in Edge as well).

'Been meaning to ask ABP about it, but then I thought it isn't worth the trouble.

I just click on that button .....

I actually have hunted down the email for ABP support and sent them off an email, including the screenshot. Hopefully they can fix this. I like Adblock Plus and have had it for years. I don't want to switch to a different extension as I barely know how to work ABP. The weirder thing is, again, this isn't happening universally on all videos on Youtube, so that's even more confusing.

Just like you, I wouldn't want to switch to another adblocker !

I have contacted ABPs support in the past (over different things) and their support is great :   really nice people !

In all honesty :   I haven't contacted ABP over this matter yet not just because I don't think it's worth the trouble, but also because I have this gut-feeling that this is (once again) a "YouTube" thing .....

I may be wrong though;   I am really curious to see what ABPs response to you will be !

I use this:

https://www.dvdvideosoft.com/

This Is ONLY A PC App
https://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm
Use this YouTube downloader to get single videos and complete playlists, show list, charts and user channels from YouTube. Convert to AVI, MP3, WMV.

I found the answer to the question, and when I went to post it, my account was deactivated (we've got the scammers to blame for the link ban).

A Mozilla developer activated my account again, and now I'm here to ask you to go to Google's main page and type or paste in the search bar :

on YouTube : there is a 'Skip Ads' button

The search results will explain .....
