I began getting security warnings using Firefox. I decided to us the Ubuntu update manager to update the system, including Firefox. All went well, but I got the crash reporter window with no details, amessage saying something about being unable to move the log, when I started Firefox after the update.

Following some advice I deleted Firefox and reinstalled from the Ubuntu software centre. It still crashed on startup, but now there was a details box withe these contents "AddonsShouldHaveBlockedE10s: 0 BuildID: 20171129231946 CrashTime: 1513934393 DOMIPCEnabled: 1 EMCheckCompatibility: true Email: pogo_1@iinet.net.au FramePoisonBase: 0000004041121792 FramePoisonSize: 4096 InstallTime: 1513691147 Notes: Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTSFP(D00-L1000-W00000000-T000) OpenGL: Mesa Project -- Software Rasterizer -- 2.1 Mesa 10.1.3 -- texture_from_pixmap WR? This is a third-party ARM build of Firefox from Ubuntu so unless otherwise third-party builds generally do not submit crash reports to Mozilla.

Pogo1, you may get more help on say https://ubuntuforums.org/ as we do not get a lot of Linux users here that are using devices with a ARM CPU vs a Intel or AMD.

I've noticed another thread about crashes with such a ARM build.
