Every time I reboot and open Thunderbird my first view is the inbox. I see the previous messages (some I had read, some I haven't yet) My screen refreshes within a second and the mail is gone 0 read 0 unread. Then it refreshes again displaying new mail, assuming there is any????? I removed my account as well Thunderbird. And reinstalled again no change. I am seeing error in the log: Timestamp: 12/15/2016 06:54:37 PM Error: mobile.charter.net : server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555 and Timestamp: 12/15/2016 06:54:34 PM Error: 2016-12-15 18:54:34 gloda.datastore ERROR got error in _asyncTrackerListener.handleError(): 19: constraint failed

generally we see this when folks have phones and tablets that retrieve mail as well as Thunderbird.

Thunderbird uses the IMAP mail protocol be default. That is synchronized to the mail server. Many phone mail clients use POP to keep space and data usage down. The result is they remove the mail as it make the mail app much easier to write and maintain. Thunderbird synchronizes the state with the server and the mails appear to vanish, because the phone deleted them.

Thank You for the direction.

Charter Spectrum Setup Issues

Auto Config setup the connection as a mobile device (IMAP) when in fact it should be set up as a desktop device (IMAP), different servers, different ports as well as other differences in setup.
