For the lasr few days, I have been unable to print my emails at a normal size e.g. a normal sized page prints out as 1.5 inches by 3 inches.

I have tried the remedies suggest but they do not work. I tried removing my signature. Again zilch. It seems that the only way I can print an email is to paste it into Word. Can I be notifies by email if a solution is found.

Thanks Don Canaan

edit: removed your mail address from public display, since the only thing it will attract are spam bots. you will be notified per mail once somebody replies to the thread. (philipp)

Thunderbird may have stored incorrect information about the current or default paper size in your printer. I'm going to suggest clearing some stored data using the "Config Editor."

(1) This article describes how to call that up: Config Editor.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste print and pause while the list is filtered

(3) For each setting for the problem printer, right-click and Reset it. The fastest way is to right-click with the mouse and then press the r key on the keyboard with your other hand.

Note: In a couple other threads involving Brother printers, the preference printer_printer_name.print_paper_data was set to 256 and when the user edited it to 1 that one change alone fixed the paper size problem. If you see a 256 there, you can edit the value by doubling-clicking it or using right-click>Modify.

Any improvement?

Sorry, what remedies have you tried? Does this problem only affect Thunderbird, do other programs on your machine print normally?

It only affects Thunderbird. All other pages and Word print out fine. I've checked out the recommended settings but nothing works

OK. So in Thunderbird, under the File menu, you have checked the page size both under the Page Setup option and under the Print > Page Setup option?

Thanks. I did go back to those settings and changed them but that did not work. However, I hit default on all settings and that did work
