For the last couple of days, every time I open FireFox I instantly get a message which says: "FireFox.exe-Bad Image C:\Program-1\Search-1\Search-1\bin\VC32l0-1.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support." I did uninstall and reinstall FireFox; however that did nothing as I still get the same error message? Also, even though I get the message FireFox does finally open? Thank you for your help.

hi jenniferdianne79, this is an issue with adware/malware on your system, so please perform all these steps:

  1. reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
  2. afterwards go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
  3. finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.

Note that you can also choose to keep your current profile and remove some suspicious or unknown extensions.
