"Add-ons is switching to Firefox Accounts for login. Sign in now to transfer your account."

I was trying to write a review for an add-on, but could not get there because I could not log in, related to the message above, which I don't understand.

When I tried to log in to make a comment, I got "unexpected error." Only an idiot would think that is an adequate error message.

Please explain in English that makes sense. I have an account that I sync my settings with, and I have a support site account.

Thanks.

That's something which is new at the Add-ons website. When I logged in on Tuesday or Wednesday I didn't get the 'suggestion' to upgrade to a Firefox Account. I have been bitchin' about that website not upgrading to using the Persona login system (Browser ID) for almost 5 years, and now that Mozilla is dumping Persona, probably due to lack of users, they decide to convert the Add-ons website to use Firefox Accounts. - http://identity.mozilla.com/post/7616727542/introducing-browserid-a-better-way-to-sign-in - https://login.persona.org/

Didn't the Skip hyperlink appear for you? I was able to "login" to the Add-ons website using my existing credentials for that website via that Skip hyperlink.

I can't exactly duplicate what you are running into - I didn't get an error like that - I used the "Log in" button at the top and the page that loaded recognized my Firefox Account automatically and auto-filled the UN&PW. It may have recognized a cookie for the Firefox Account - but I'm not sure that is why.

As far as converting your Add-ons website account to a Firefox Account, you might try setting up a Firefox Account first here: https://accounts.firefox.com/signup And then go to the Add-ons website and use "log in" at the top of the page, and then "upgrade" from there using that new Firefox Account.
