The bookmarks are stored in a file called places.sqlite in the [[profiles|profile folder]]. This file is not viewable in a text editor. One way to do this would be to create a new profile (Firefox stores user data in the profile folder), you can then copy the bookmarks and other user data such as passwords to the new profile. You will then have access to the data from the PC and will still have your current laptop data in its own profile.
