RECENT UPLOADS OF NEW VERSION FIREFOX INSTALLED A ENCRYPTION PROGRAM THAT IS ATTACHED TO EVERY FILE FOLDER AND PHOTO DOCUMENTS ON THIS LAPTOP.

NOT HAPPY AT ALL. HOW DO YOU GET RID OF IT. SIMPLY DELETING THESE FILES ONLY REMOVES ANYTHING THAT WAS IN SUB DIRECTORIES. I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO WIPE THIS HARD DRIVE .

hello, firefox does not include any such program. what you describe sounds a bit like a cryptolocker ransomware-virus that is installed on your system. please refer to a resource specialised in this topic like http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/threat/ransomware/ as we are only able to deal with topics related to firefox in this forum and are no experts on malware removal...

Firefox for Windows, Mac OSX, Linux from www.mozilla.org www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ and by updates in Firefox only comes as Firefox and nothing else.

There have been on occasion popups on some sites that claim you need to download a fake firefoxupdatro.exe to update Firefox. This is does not update Firefox but rather it infects Windows should the user try to run it.

Also there are some sites that claim to have Firefox downloads are really a way to infect Windows. Some sites like cnet aka download .com can have bundled stuff with otherwise clean software.

Your issue does sound like ransomware of sorts which most certainly did not come from the Firefox browser install or update from mozilla.org
