Is there a way (extension, some config string...) to HIDE my history when I use built-in search keywords and SHOW it when I just type some string?

It's annoying to see irrelevant suggestions from my history when I want to search something with a specific engine. Just as annoying as not be able to see some specific site without bookmarking it if I disable history suggestions from Privacy tab in prefs.

I used InstantFox a year or so ago. It was fine but then started glitching with almost every new version of FF. Switched to built-in keywords and got stuck with this issue.

Noticed that using suggestions stops keywords from working. The search just sends my string to the default engine with the keyword itself.

Can it be solved without an extension then? If not, what extensions can use another engine's (google etc) suggestions without interfering with browser's history?
