Since upgrading to the recent release I am getting TLS handshake errors and am not able to download any mail from my imap server. This is new behavior, as everything had been working before. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Server is dovecot. Thunderbird is running on kubuntu 22.04, though I see the same behavior on MacOS.

What is the exact error message, and where do you see it?

Have you checked your Dovecot server log?

Is there anything relevant in the TB Error Console (CTRL-Shift-J)?
