It may take up to six hours for the Study to be applied to Firefox. ???? what?????

what is this?? 6 hours????

and nothing happens in about:studies “hotfix-update-xpi-signing-intermediate-bug-1548973” never comes up

why is the fix inactive when I did what you have told us to do to fix the problem?

Hi Ajay-ajay, I'm not aware of a way to speed it up. There is a way to "sideload" the add-on that the study delivers. We think that should do the same thing, but there hasn't been a lot of feedback on it. If you can't wait, there's an unofficial link to the extension in a comment on the Add-ons blog. I have not tried it myself, but the link matches what I expect it to be:
