How do I send attachments immediately following my reply to a message rather than having the attachments follow the text of the original incoming message?

I want to send attachments (photos, documents, etc.) which appear to the recipient immediately following my message without the recipient having to click to open them. I can do that, but the attachments appear at the very end of the thread, like at the end of the original message to which I am replying. If the thread of messages back and forth is very long, my attachments are "lost" by being buried at the very end of the whole thread. How do I get them to show up immediately after my last reply?

Your attachments are just that. Thunderbird has an option to display attachments (but only some common types) inline. Most web mail or mail client users will not see the attachments inline. They will see an attachment pane with a list of attachments in it which they will have to open.
