So I just switched from chrome back to firefox and wanted to watch some webm's however it seems they're mostly loading fine, last night I was having trouble getting them to even load but now the main problem i'm seeing is that I can't click on anything within the webm player, can't fullscreen, turn volume on, play/pause, skip, see the time elapsed, and theres a play button stuck in the middle of the webms any ideas??

here is a gif of what it looks like https://gyazo.com/477d15cf4b43547f14d27178c1649fbd

Hi, since no info was shared regarding your system we have no idea what Extensions you are using or the condition of your Video Card Drivers. Please do this : Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

SafeMode-Fx35

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

i'm not sure what you mean by "Video card drivers" my drivers should be all up to date unfortunately I was going to try to edit my post and add that I did already try the safe mode, the only add-ons I have are ublock, and privacy badger, I have a theme

Ya well thanks for telling us you tried in Safe Mode. But did not say the result.

Please : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 61.0.1 with a Full Version Installer

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
