i type in to the google search box "facebook" and press enter.
takes a long time, then comes up with site "http://en-gb.facebook.com/"
only is not facebook, but some sort of advertising page

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
