open message
In my old install of thunderbird the msgs opened in a pane below the list of msgs... now they open in a new tab... is it possible to have them open as in the old version.

it opens on the right side... is it possible to have it show at the bottom as in the old version
A little more detail please.... I don't see that in settings... where do you find that.

It isn't in settings. Click either the hamburger menu at upper right or the menu bar (press alt key if not visible.) Either option shows the View option.
