in private browsing does a new tab open in private

If I click on a search result done in a private tab and it opens a new tab, is the new tab in private mode also? In other words, if I open Firefox in Private mode, are any tabs that are created, automatically or manually, also private??

Also, I'm assuming that if I have Firefox, in normal mode, set up to delete everything on exit, then that's basically the same as Private browsing. True??

Hi JuanMay, Firefox separates tabs into regular and private windows. Each tab in a regular window is a regular tab, and each tab in a private window is a private tab. Possibly add-ons could change that, but that is the normal behavior.

A: Yes

A: It's probably the same at the end of the clean-up (I can't say for sure), but it's possible that other programs on your system will spy on Firefox data files while you are browsing, so having the data kept only in RAM and never written to disk has the potential to be more private.
