someone (not all) replies to my msg. and I never receive it

it seems to be selective. many messages I send which require a reply go thru and I receive their reply..then on occasion someone receives my message and claims they answered me as a reply and I never get it. I have searched in trash and etc. and it is no where to be found.

Thunderbird will only download emails that have been received on the server.

Logon to webmail account via a browser and check to see if emails have been received in server Inbox or have been moved to another folder like 'Spam'.
