So I recently updated to 21.0, and suddenly, the new download manager stopped working. Coincidentally, the add filter dialogue box on AdBlock Plus doesn't work either. I tried restarting firefox, uninstalling, and manually deleting every piece of firefox data to no avail. I updated the graphic drivers, and noticed that while running Intel HD 4000 graphics, the above problems don't occur. When I finished the update to AMD Mobility beta 16.3, the problems began anew. I'm running an AMD Radeon HD 7970M graphics card. Can anyone else confirm a link to the graphics card?

Whelp, I turned hardware acceleration off and that seemed to solve the problem... But I don't have permanent private browsing on. Thanks for the help.

What happens if you open the about:downloads page in a tab or open the History Manager (Library) and inspect the Downloads folder?

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode.

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"
