I am unable to switch from IE to Firefox. When trying to run this file "Firefox%20setup%204.0.1.exe" I get a message that says "Firefox has encountered a problem." I have Windows XP SP3. I switch over on my netbook successfully, which also runs Windows XP SP3, but I'm having problems on my desktop. Also, on both my netbook and desktop, I use Internet Explorer. Am I doing something wrong?

Try to change the %20 to a space (or just remove them) by renaming the file (FirefoxSetup4.0.1.exe)

If the file is corrupted then you need to download another copy.
You may need to disable the live checking in anti-virus software if you keep having problems with the file.

Thanks for your reply cor-el. the file "FirefoxSetup4.0.1.exe" downloads just fine. After it downloads, I'm asked to run "Firefox%20setup%204.0.1.exe" This is the step which is supposed to launch the installation wizard. This is when I get the error message. I even disabled my virus software to no avail. If the file is corrupted, where else can I get the file online? I'm downloading this one from the Mozilla site.

Frustration is the mother of technological problem-solving! I went back onto the Mozilla site and started from scratch. The difference this time was that I saved the .exe file to a designated folder. I then went to the folder, found the file, and ran it from that location. Success! I am now running Firefox! Goodbye IE!
