I have Adblock Plus installed and activated and still get "Critical Firefox Update" messages. How can I stop them?

The question pretty much says it all. I stopped getting the "Critical" update messages when I installed adblock plus on both my wife's and my computers, now we are both seeing them again.

Hi, this is a problem that is difficult to overcome, but some users seem to have more success with https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin so you could try that instead.

Incidentally, you have a very old version of Shockwave Flash - which can cause problems, so it should be updated on your machine -
