This has been an issue for over a year and I've seen many posts here addressing it but NONE actually resolve it. Some sites like the adult site xhamster.com, will open a spam page in your current tab when you click for the first time anything on their site while opening your intended link in a new tab.

Please DO NOT tell my I have SPAM or MALEWARE, or ask me to restart in safe mode. This affects the following systems: (Currently on 50.1.0 / Win 10 to write this)

Linux 17.3 Linux 18 Linux 18.1 Fedora 25 Windows 7 Windows 10

Yes, it's true that sites can attach a script to a link/button that takes multiple actions when you click them. That can be used for good or evil.

Since you don't want to block the new window/tab, traditional popup blocking add-ons won't help with the problem you're describing. You would need some kind of custom made tool to modify how the problem pages behave without disabling scripted links on sites you trust.
