Hey, I've recently started to use unified view, but I'm having a question regarding the folders since some of them show under the "inbox", while the others under all other folders. Do you know what influance whether the folder will go in one or the other ? I would like to have them below, but only some folders are showing up there.

Any clue?

Best, Daniel

I use to save Thunderbird emails on my desktop by right-clicking on the email in the inbox. Now when I save them that same way, they save as a pdf. I can still open the file by right-clicking on "Open with Thunderbird" but it's an extra step. Can I make it default back to saving as a Thunderbird email file?

Thanks, Rick

Hi, this is weird: a particular mail account shows all functional folders (Drafts, Sent Items, Archive, Spam, Deleted) as subfolders of the Inbox. My other mail accounts (on Strato.de) do not exhibit this error, they show these functional folders in the root of the account. Oddly, the folder view of the odd account is normal (all functional folders in root) if I add it to Apple Mail. An admin tried it in Outlook, also "normal". Why is Thunderbird showing this odd structure? If I create a new folder, it, too, will be shown as a subfolder of the Inbox in Thunderbird (and not in Apple Mail). Thank you!

I used to be able to search my emails by sender, recipient, subject, or body (text) but now there is just a little search window in the upper right that does not allow much searching at all. Is there any way I can get back my ability to search?? Please?

Hi there, I have installed Fedora on a desktop and CAElinux on a laptop. In the laptop I have Thunderbird and for a while or subfolders were there. On the desktop I decided to try Kmail and all the subfolders disappear which most likely is because i didn't know much about Kmail. Then I tried using Thunderbird on the desktop with the same settings that where working on the laptop and the subfolders dissapear. Then I turned on the laptop while the desktop was on with Thunderbird on, and when i started Thunderbird on the laptop, the subfolders disappeared. Seems like a domino effect. Now all the email are shown in one big list, but only this years emails are shown. If I open the email on the internet through the email provider all the subfolders are still there. Now I have removed Fedora from the desktop and installed an identical setup as the laptop. I don't want to start Thunderbird on the desktop until i have recovered the subfoders and emails in the laptop and I know that I am following the right path. By the way the desktop is dual boot Windows / Linux and if I start Thunderbird under Windows all the subfolders and emails are there. Could someone please tell me how to recover the subfolders and emails running Thunderbird under Linux , thanks.

TMC

I came back home to Thunderbird after loosing my job that required me to use Outlook. Everything is fine except that when I start Thunderbird I am asked for the password for my SMTP server. Fine, that's what I expected, but if I check the box that says "Use Password Manager to remember this password" the password will not be remembered. I will be asked for the password next time I log on.

Any suggestions?

TIA!

I am using Thunderbird Beta 130.0b1 64-bit on Windows 11 Pro 10.0.22631. I have a KVM attached. My basic setup is, when the main PC (my home PC with the above specs) is connected to the KVM, I get my main monitor in the center screen with a secondary monitor on the left. When I switch the KVM, my center monitor shows the macbook on the right side (work monitor). When I switch back to the Windows 11 computer, everything goes back to the previous position except Thunderbird.

Here is something I've tried so far that seems to fix it, but it is odd that no other applications have this problem. If I make the secondary monitor on the left my primary monitor, and dock thunderbird on the left half of that monitor, when I switch the KVM to the macbook and back again, it seems to remember correctly where Thunderbird belongs (along with every other app). But if I go back to having the large center monitor the primary display, and switch the KVM away and back, everything goes back to where it was except Thunderbird for some reason.

I tried to run the system with the left monitor as the primary for a while and I use keyboard shortcuts too often which end up popping up items over on the side monitor all of the time which is more irritating. So I am wondering if there is something built into Thunderbird that specifically conflicts with remembering it's position when the KVM switches back.

It seems that the real problem is the fact that the center monitor is not only disappearing, but that the center monitor is switching between being the primary monitor and then suddenly being unavailable. Like Windows 11 is trying, only in the case of thunderbird, to remember it's last position relative to the primary monitor as opposed to its position relative to the last time the computer ran in a specific monitor configuration.

Thoughts? Should I report this to Microsoft maybe? Since this only happens with Thunderbird, is it something built into Thunderbird?

I have had Thunderbird on my Dell desktop of years. Since installing Norton Antivirus/Malware on the computer my Thunderbird program will not access my email. This is happening only on the machine that I installed Norton. I can use Thuderbird on another desktop. I have checked the settings in Thunderbird and he said that the Server ID had to be changed from smpt to mail. I do not know how this got changed. However, changing it to mail.rockisland.com did not make any difference. Thunderbird starts to connect to mail.rockland.com and then just freezes.

What settings in Norton could have caused this problem?
