If you go to "view" on the bookmarks menu the drop down shows "sort" by however you want to see them - I don't know if it works or not - firefox rushes to update to the latest version of everything and totally forgets about the prior versions of anything - many people still use windows but not foxfire -

As of Firefox 4.0 that menu item was renamed to Show All Bookmarks.
