A couple of months ago I borked my thunderbird installation and ended up having to re-install and import my old emails. I ended up having to do it a few times before getting all of my old emails imported correctly. At least I thought I did. Not all but quite few emails are now showing blank Subject and Correspondent fields and the message body is displayed in HTML code. I tried the "repair folder" function and it has not effect. Please see attached screenshot

About 2 weeks ago I was unable to receive emails but could send emails using Thunderbird. A few days ago I was no longer able to send emails in addition to not receive. This is the error message I got "Sending of password for user bobvigeant@myfairpoint.net did not succeed. Mail server pop3.fairpoint.net responded: Auth-Status: Invalid login or password", then, "Login to server pop3.fairpoint.net with username bobvigeant@myfairpoint.net failed" giving me the option to enter a new password and the cycle starts over again. I have some Gmail accounts in Thunderbird and those accounts are able to send & receive Emails. Then I could not send or receive Emails using Outlook on computer or on my Android phone. My internet service provider, Consolidated Communications changed my password and Outlook & Android are now fine with the Emails, but not Firefox, Consolidated thinks it's a Thunderbird issue. Can anyone help???

Right, what i'm about to explain may not be relevant in even 2 seconds from now based on how inconsistent and random this application feels when in use.

I'm struggling to get to grips with how the following two features work together:

- Copies and Folders - Unified Folders

I have been into Account Settings for all of my accounts and set up the correct folders for Junk, Archive, Sent, Drafts etc.

I have also got the appropriate folders checked when you right click a Unified folder header like "Junk" and then you click "Choose" to "tick" the folders.

My questions are thus:

1. Why do both options exist? If I select a folder as Junk in Account Settings, then surely it should automatically be shown under the Junk Unified Folders heading for Junk? Am I wrong?

2. Right now, I have my accounts actual "junk" folder showing up inset under "Inbox", ASWELL as under the Junk Unified Folders heading. How do I make it appear ONLY under the Unified Folders heading? I have it all ticked correctly (afaik).

I'm just soooo confused. It just feels like there are waaaay too many settings and config options for all this than there needs to be.

So, I had to delete my wife's email account (and I know people cringe when that's done), because no matter what, I could not get in with any password and Thunderbird was acting strange in general. I created a new account but no matter what it will not take any password I put in. It just continues to circle and goes no where! How do I create this account easily, as I have done in the past, and what do I do about Thunderbird not accepting ANY passwords? As I said.....no matter what I put in, the the password section it doesn't take. Its like this: Name: Email address: Password: Once I put in whatever password I'm using it just continues to spin (or think) and goes no where. Can someone please help me here? I would so appreciate it. I'm not a computer dummy, but Thunderbird is sure making me feel like one!! Thank you in advance!

Something similar to what happened in Nov 2023 happened again today. "View" seems have to changed so that how when I see message headers listed in my inbox, I have to double-click on message to see it in a separate tab -- while previously I could just click on the header once, and the message text would appear below.

That previous problem SEEMED to be fixed by solution offered by David - Press [F8] to return to "Classic View". That doesn't work now. was solved. Attach Screenshot seems to indicate that I AM in "Classic View" but it's very different from what I'm used to.

I never understood clearly in Nov 2023 what caused the appearance to chance without any conscious action on my part. I'm equally baffled now. Any help anybody can offer would be appreciated.

The error is login to server imap.comcast.net with username vimills@comcast.net failed. It also requests a new password at times. The passwords are correct and have not had problems until now

I am having problem loading messages at all, plus whn I can access the header the content will not load. Plus the unified folders are now seperate accoring to e:mail address. When deleting messages it no longer shows the deleted message. Ihave therefore no clue that they have been deleted. Also one time when I signed in a lot of messages I thought I had deleted months ago suddenly reappeared.

Import my TB profile OR copy my profile folder (with all emails & address books) into new installation and still have oauth2 in server settings? OR will it revert back to old non oauth2 server settings?

I keep getting error messages like below..... up to 50 a day where my Thunderbird is not syncing with my hotmail email. I can not force it but just wait until it happens to automatically sync. It keeps getting worse every week and I just got a notice from Microsoft that they will no longer accept third party programs that do not support modern authentication after September 16. I love my Thunderbird. What can I do to ensure access to my hotmail with Thunderbird?

Since you sent me an email asking if I have any questions, I'll try a third time with my question. Frequently, when I close an email--either by selecting it in the Inbox and then pressing Del, or by clicking the X on the tab of an open email, the remaining emails in the Inbox disappear for awhile (progress in re-displaying them is shown by thermometer at lower right). However if I click another folder, say Drafts, and then re-click the Inbox, all are instantly visible--except of course for the one I wanted deleted.

Any thoughts?

I moved some emails to a folder from the inbox and now they are not displaying. when I search them I am able to find them and can be read, the search indicates that they are in "the new folder" all mail and important. This has happened before and I have not been able to resolve I am assuming there must be a setting I have activated/deactivated but I've no idea what. I am FAR from tech savvy so please give any answers in as simplistic form as possible. Thanks Matt
