Nyc.rr.com cannot send email I can receive email. Everything seems to be set correctly as you can see in the screenshot. Please help. This is a new pc that I am trying to setup. Thank You

I am using Mac OS Ventura 13.6.9. I have been a Thunderbird user for many years. Since this last update, I have started having issues where not all emails are displaying. Seems like most recent emails open correctly, but when I get to emails that are a day or 2 old, I get the the following banner across the top of the screen when the email opens, but can't open the remainder of the email.

I have attached a screenshot to show what I am seeing.

I am using gmail and I can access the emails in gmail, but not in Thunderbird. What is the fix for this?

i was able to see all of the emails for some accounts that no longer have a working login, but now they are all just empty with only 1 fake inbox folder, so where did it all go and how can i get them back? it even finds them via the main ctrl+k search, but dont show any in the inbox folder anymore (there are also no profiles under the hamburger help menu etc... and i probably just copied them into a new folder after renaming the 1st clean installation folder etc...)

A few times now I've had a batch of incoming e-mails where the date, sender, header information are all there but the body of the e-mail shows: FXCG9w89iTyF8D70T5uihi9D instead of the message. I don't know what this means or why it happens. Can you explain and help me find a solution?

PDF Viewer just loads a white screen on the 130.0b1 (64-bit) build, I have to manually save the pdfs and open them with another program.

I have restarted TB several times, restarted the computer, checked for any and all malicous firmware and still its not working

Do you know, why Thunderbird does not display message content or displays strange characters? We only have this problem on one computer. On the other everything is OK.

I had a hard drive failure and cannot load Thunderbird on the failed drive, therefore I cannot find my profile. I can see and read all the files on the drive, is my Profile in there somewhere, there is no "Users" directory

Yahoo Acnt. #1 messages being duplicated in Yahoo Acnt. #2 in Thunderbird ONLY

I have tested, and tested and tested. Checked settings EVERYWHERE. Delete and removed, reinstalled, etc. etc. etc.

Additionally, Thunderbird will NOT retrieve inbox messages from YAHOO for account #2

NEED SOMEONE ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT TO SOLVE THIS ONE !

Some of my incoming emails have started to appear as unreadable machine code, after many trouble free years, the problem just started in the last few weeks. Using Win11, and TB automatically updated.

With the latest Thunderbird update (128.1.0esr) I am seeing frequent "not responding" situations. It eventually does come back. Am I doing something wrong? I am on a PC running Windows 10.

My isp is virgin media and I use Mozilla for browsing and emails. I have been with them for many years but recently I found that although I am receiving emails I can't send them . I get this message.

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Authentication Required (VM401). Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.

I am trying to setup my ka1vrf@bellsouth.net account in Thunderbird Mail. I have been reading a number of threads that say that this cannot be done, but a number of these are old threads, Has there been any changes and/or is there a way that I can setup my bellsouth email to forward to my gmail account?

I have had this issue since at least 2022 starting with version 102.4.1. I am currently running 128.1.0esr on OS 14.6.1.

I figured I would post again, as it has been a few years and the previous posts are now archived, to see if any new solution options are known.

In short, Thunderbird runs perfectly fine in troubleshoot mode. When launched normally, it locks up as soon as it checks for new messages, I get the spinning beach ball, and I have to force quit to close it. Letting it sit for an extended time has no impact. If I start in Troubleshoot Mode it works normally. No problems at all. I don't appear to have any add-ons or extensions running, so I don't understand why this is fixing things. I've just been running it in troubleshoot mode for years now, which is fine, but annoying.

The only themes, extensions, or add-ons present are "light," "dark," and "system theme -auto." Nothing else.

I had read a previous post about disabling access to Contacts in System Preferences, I tried that, no luck. I also deleted all add-ons and extensions files, and folders. Folders were empty, no change.

Any other theories?

The latest rev is VERY slow (several seconds) compared to prior revs to process email changes within INBOX (OPEN, MOVE, DELETE, etc.)

Something new is going on internally to the program while the hour-glass appears for a few seconds more than before (I did not change any settings w/ latest upgrades).

Dear, I'm trying to clean up my massive mailbox by deleting email messages from the "All mail" view in Thunderbird. Despite settings like "Immediately delete" and "clean up (expunge) inbox on exit" and "empty trash on exit", the emails always come back to my thunderbird client.

When deleting directly on gmail (eg. in accessed through chrome) the mails remain deleted - also in thunderbird.

What can I do to avoid the need to redo the action over and over again, and eventually having to abandon thunderbird in favor of working with gmail online?

Why do mails disappear out of sight when I have read them. I only can see the unread mails in Thunderbird.. I have to go on the net to my one.com-mail to find the mails I have read.

The latest update to Thunderbird did all sorts of damage, but the attached image is one. My emails now look like they're a jumbled mess of code. Is there a way to reset or refresh these so they actually show the email?
