Now that I've successfully downloaded FF 7.0 and the orange rectangle has appeared, I can no longer see my tools, help, etc.

If you prefer the classic menu bar over the new combined Firefox menu, you can switch.
Tap the Alt key and choose
View menu > Toolbars > Menu Bar
That same menu area lets you show or hide your other toolbars.
Can you get it back to the way you want?
