When I choose to download a file, the window deletes the file.

When I choose to download a file, the download window opens and the file begins to download. However, once the download has finished the scan for viruses, it disappears before I can click on it to install it.

check privacy settings as in this topic: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Downloads_not_visible_in_Download_Manager

  1. In Firefox 3.5 and above: Set "Firefox will:" to "Use custom settings for history". "Remember download history" should be checked.

I lived with this for annoyance for months! Until I started trying to look it up and found it today!

Under Tools|Options|Privacy| check "Remember download history" !
