I went to Ugsound.com accidently while using Firefox on my Imac. The Firefox warning came up immediately and I left the site. Did Firefox protect me from malicious virus or was it too late? I was on the site for maybe 7-8 seconds.

Firefox ESR/Duo: Not reporting minor version in user agent

We use ESR due to its stability and long term security updates, and we use Duo as our SSO/IDP.

We have Duo set to deny login when the browser is more than 6 mo out of date, but due to the way FF reports only the main version number via the user agent Duo is unable to determine that FF ESR is actually up to date and thinks that it's too old and my users are being denied login or getting an erroneous message about needing to update their browser.

Is there a way to set FF to report it's whole version to Duo? We would prefer not to have to "outlaw" FF in our prod environment if at all possible.

Pour exemple, lorsque Mozilla installe une mise à jour automatique, nos différents comptes, sur Gmail ou le site "Le Bon Coin", se bloquent et m'alertent d'un problème de sécurité. Pour certains comptes cela devient catastrophiques, car nous avons dans la famille, 2 téléphones qui ne captent pas dans la maison et nous sommes obligés de sortir de notre domicile pour obtenir le code (c'est chouette en hiver lorsqu'il fait froid et qu'il pleut; désolé d'habiter à la campagne!!). Ces problèmes n'existaient pas deux ou trois ans en arrière. Depuis je n'ai trouvé aucune solution! Je souhaitais surtout être sûr que ces problèmes émanaient du petit Renard; 15 ans que j'utilise Mozilla. Ces problèmes récurrents sont problématiques pour toute la famille, puisque mes parents rencontrent exactement les mêmes problèmes. Merci de nous venir en aide. Cordialement.

I hope someone can provide me with some advice.

I have used Thunderbird since its birth and have always found it reliable. However the latest release seems to be having problems with moving emails.

Example 1 - I moved an email from my Inbox to a special folder. The email was present in full before the move. Only the header appeared to be copied. I could not undo this and attempting repair on both inbox and other folder failed, as did exit and re-start. The result is that this email is lost.

Example 2 - I went to do a bulk move from the search window (something I have done hundreds of times before without incident). As usual CTRL A, Move to <new folder>, emails greyed out but nothing happens. Exit, return, repeat - same result.

At other times, both these type of operations work fine. But it is unpredictable.

Relatedly, I observe that on start-up the Inbox initially shows as <no messages> and takes several seconds to populate. Also, my auto-filing Rules are also working inconsistently.

These two points, and the two examples, are new issues for me since 128 release. I am using Windows 10 Pro on an HP Envy 17" laptop.

Any suggestions welcome as I am now concerned about losing emails!

"Search Messages" (Ctrl+Shift+F) suddenly extremely slow

When I search for anything using "Search Messages" (Ctrl+Shift+F) it takes forever - like up to half an hour!!! Even if the search criteria is "Subject contains" [textstring], or "Date is" [today's date] - which used to take seconds. It seems as if it's stopped indexing my emails.

Any idea how to fix this?

I'm using TB 115.12.2 and Windows 10.

Hi,

I'm a long-time user and big fan of T-Bird, but I've been having an issue lately that is driving me nuts.

When using T-Bird, the program frequently locks up for maybe 10-30 seconds, especially when deleting messages, transferring messages to folders, and when downloading new messages. This is super frustrating because it's hard to get much done when your critical software is frequently locking up the entire system.

This happens on all three of my PCs (two workstations and a laptop); two are Win 10, one is Win 11, and this problem is not happening with any other software. I've looked at the task manager when it happens and killed any processes that are taking more than a negligible amount of CPU, but that doesn't fix the problem.

It's hard to know exactly where T-Bird is getting hung up without the right profiling tools, but it seems to happen most frequently when accessing the network. At first I thought it might be a disk space issue, but it's still happening on all the machines even after optimizing the disks and deleting the recycle bin, temporary files, etc. to ensure there's plenty of free disk space.

The only thing I've tried that seems to help a little bit is turning off the quick filter.

I've tried asking support at my ISP (InMotion) if the delay might be caused by the mail server, but sadly they are a bunch of worthless idiots.

Any advice or feedback on how we might narrow down or fix this is much appreciated! :)

I tried a 2022 sourced help answer result content but it was broken, and that seemed to be the most recent gainful help response connected to my issue, another variant from elsewhere did not work at all, it was probably older still, so I need working code for the most recent version of Firefox Browser, or however recent enough to not so conflict. Much Appreciated.
