When I open Thunderbird it opens my inbox but doesn't download new e-mails. Box appears which asks for new password. Putting this in does nothing. Demand re-appears. After a few minutes its sorts itself out & downloads new e-mails. This has been happening with Outlook & Plusnet e-mails.

I used Firefox and recently there is no audio on any of the websites I visit. I am using an ASUS laptop with Windows 11. Other browsers (Edge and Chrome) do have audio. I tried disabling all of the add-ons but it did not help. Has anyone else experienced this or have a possible solution?

Today, Firefox stopped playing audio on Facebook videos and won't play Netflix videos at all (Netflix error code: F7701-1003). Youtube works fine and has audio, but several other video sites I've tried have video but no audio. It was all working fine yesterday and I haven't changed any settings.

These websites work fine with both audio and sound on Microsoft Edge on the same laptop, so this is a problem exclusive to Firefox. OS is Windows 11 Home 23H2, Firefox is latest version (129.0.2)

Things I've tried: 1. Refresh Firefox settings 2. Download and install fresh copy of Firefox 3. Toggle DRM content in setting on/off - no difference no matter what is selected 4. Ensure that 'remember history' is selected 5. Check for Windows updates 6. Uninstall audio driver, restart and fresh install of audio driver 7. Ensure it's not in private mode 8. Turn off all extensions 9. Check volume mixer allows sound for Firefox 10. Clear the cache and cookies

I can't find any more suggestions on the internet, so any further suggestions welcome!

The quick search used to work wonderfully. With the recent updates, it works very slowly and takes a few minutes to display the request. I already fixed my inbox, but I continue having the same problem. I appreciate any suggestions.

Hello I have been a Thunderbird user for decades now.

On one of my computer I have a 'misspelled' POP or IMAP server address error that pops up every time and it has become kind of annoying - I do not mean the SMTP server - that is easy to fix.

Since I keep a 'huge amount' of forwarders - i.e. aliases - I cannot go and check each one manually!

Is there a file within profile folder I can open with NotePad++ and amend error? Unless I missed something within the GUI and I do not need to amend a file directly. I am not into this part and I am asking you 'nerdy friends' (I am one for other things!).

Visiting Google, searching, and then attempting to revise the URL appear to no longer be possible. Every time I try to edit the URL after a search, I can only edit the search.

I am not trying to copy the url, but add &UDM=14 so the useless AI features disappear

I'm using a Samsung 9s ultra tablet. I have an order form from my company downloaded on Firefox. I have been using this form on my tablet for a year now. All of the sudden one of the fields quit working. The column with the totals (This column adds the totals) will not let me type in a number. It will let me type in other charaters, no numbers. I tried to reset and reinstall. I downloaded the form several times. This order form still works fine on my laptop. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you

All my email accounts worked until 9.30 pm 8/22/24

When I went on the computer on this morning, 8/23/24 I got the following message:

Unable to connect

An error occurred during a connection to localhost.

   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Thunderbird is permitted to access the web.

I cannot send or receive email from Thunderbird. I turned off and on the computer, I'm set at imap, port 993 and OAuth2. I don't know what else to do. FireFox works fine.

hi there, on left side of Thunderbird = categories are items/words/possebilities = sent and drafts ...twice (one under the same). I installed Thunderbird also on a second computer ...and again the two words are twice present ! absolutly creasy to me and no solution at all to find anywhere. Please advice. I've been using Thunderbird for a while now, and while I generally like it, there is a huge problem: Sometimes, for no apparent reason, it doesn't retrieve any emails from either of the two accounts that I have connected to it. This happens maybe once a week or so, and it can take a few hours for me to notice, because it simply looks as if no new emails would be coming in - which is perfectly possible. But then someone tells me they sent me an email two hours ago, or I shut down the computer, and when I reboot it later, several emails I retrieved that should have been in my inbox much earlier. Once I notice the malfunction, closing Thunderbird and launching it again will fix the problem. But I'm a freelancer, I could miss important emails or job offers, so I need my email client to be reliable. Is this a known issue? Any idea what I could do?

I have Windows 10, by the way.

I have numerous 1and1 domain IMAP based email addresses and use Thunderbird as main email program to retrieve and review my emails. However, some of the accounts setup in Thunderbird which have IMAP based servers are removing/deleting the email from the server on syncing. Its really frustrating on why some are doing this and the other do not.

I don't want ANY of my IMPA email servers having emails deleting, its why I use IMPA so I can review the emails on phone, tablet or via WebUI when away from home.

Thunderbird version is 115.14.0 (64-bit)

Please can you advise how I can fix this?

I am running Ubuntu 22.04 Jammy on my desktop. Problem does not appear in Windows 10.

I can click the search box and the list of search engines shows. I can change the default search engine in settings. Mouse over highlights the selections.

Clicking on one of the choices does nothing.

I think there have been 2 updates since the problem first appeared.

PS: There also appears to be an issue with js. Some functions on websites do not work although most of the scripts do work. In particular comments on comicskingdom.com do not work and the same with comments on seattletimes.com which apparently uses the same script. Both websites work on Windows 10.

After running scannow and chkdisk on my Win 11 laptop, the fonts for menus and toolbars in Firefox (not for web pages) is unreadably small (about 6pt). I have tried adjusting layout.css.devPixelsPerPx, ui.textScaleFactor, and browser.display.os-zoom-behavior to recommended valus as well as above or below values. So far, no help. Please advise.

When I type something in Google search I have two issue. #1 it moves the search up to the browser address bar which is utterly annoying. I've tried finding ways to disable that and use Google the original way which I think most people prefer. But #2, more annoying than this is that starting in July 2024 the searches started randomly not working. You hit enter... nothing happens. I'll clear all the browser cache and history (everything selected) and it will work once or twice, then nothing. At first I thought maybe the enter key on my keyboard was going bad since it was seemingly a little intermittent, but no, it's not the keyboard... it's Firefox.

I also tried a full delete and reinstall of Firefox but that doesn't work either.

I also tried shutting off my free version of AVG, which I've had for quite awhile, and that didn't help either.

I have no idea what else to try and absolutely no idea what else could be causing this. I just know I use Google A LOT and have never liked other search engines.

So with that said, I think my days of using Firefox have come to an end. If someone doesn't post a legitimate fix to this by the end of the month (Aug 2024), I'm just going to delete and use Chrome. I don't feel I have any other choice at this point. This has simply become way too frustrating. And from what I've found, no one else has been able to resolve this either.

Hy ! The version of TB y run is 128.1.0esr (32 bits) under Windows 10. I am a user since 2005. Under "disk space in "local folders", I have (translated) " never delete messages"

While seaching old messages, I just discovered that, although theses messages appear in the list of messages of local folders, there is a lot of theses local folders where, when I click on a message in the list, a window opens whith an empty content.

This does not occur the same way for all the folders : for example, in one of them, the messages dated 2005 do not open (they appear in an empty window), while messages dated 2006 and earlier open as usual. Other example, in another folder, containing messages dated 2008 to 2010, not any opens in another way than an empty window.

I have tried to ask my question in the mozilla forum the 15 th august, but no answer. That is why I try on this site. I have translated here the question I posted on the mozilla forum in French, my native langage, and I hope it will be understandable ...
