I have used your products for close to 10 years now. I know that I most likely do not agree with positions held by staff and leadership. But I was not going to punish you for thoughtcrime.

Now I see what you all did to your CEO, and I find it despicable and totalitarian. Why should I continue Firefox? What will you do to users who are similarly guilty of thoughtcrime?

Hello White_Rose, I'm not sure where you have got your information from, but Brendan certainly was not pushed out of his position by Mozilla - his decision to resign from his post is a great loss for Mozilla. In fact, we didn't want him to leave the company in the first place.

You might have read some things about this topic that aren't quite correct, because sadly the press has in general done a very poor job at fact-checking this story. Since you care deeply enough to send this message instead of silently turning your back on us, you might be interested in some attempts to clear up a lot of this misinformation:

Here is a short collection of facts about what happened: https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2014/04/05/faq-on-ceo-resignation/ and here's a longer version: https://medium.com/p/7645a4bf8a2

Finally, here's a perspective on all of this from a colleague here at Mozilla, who's not only one of the key people shaping our community's policies, but also a public supporter of Brendan's views on the very topic that triggered this mess: http://blog.gerv.net/2014/04/your-ire-is-misdirected/

thank you!

Unfortunately many have assumed he must have been fired or forced out due to his decision to leave instead of going back to CTO or another role at least in meantime.
