My program files on both Drives C and E, show only one version of Firefox, but I saw 3 other applications called FIREFOX, MOZILLA FIREFOX, AND ANOTHER FIREFOX. I wanted Firefox version 16.0, downloaded it, but now see a Version 24.0 that I didn't download, thus, these numerous applications are using massive amounts of disc space. Please advise the best way of getting rid of all the others and keeping only version 16.0.

Thanks, GoldenGirl147

Do you actually see those Firefox versions installed in folders on the hard drive or do you only see them in Add and Remove programs (Control Panel)?

It is possible that you only see orphaned Firefox entries in Add and Remove programs.
This can happen if the Firefox updater didn't remove the entry of the previous version, but merely added an entry for the new version.
If you uninstall such versions that are actually no longer present then you will likely uninstall the current Firefox version and you will have to reinstall Firefox.
If you are comfortable with the registry editor then you can remove Firefox entries that no longer apply in this registry key.

Hi, you said "Do you actually see those Firefox versions installed in folders on the hard drive or do you only see them in Add and Remove programs (Control Panel)? My Answer: No, it's only listed as Mozilla Firefox at this location (Add and Remove programs) as Mozilla Firefox 24.0. I also learned that the Firefox 16.0 on my E drive was identified as coming from "some other computer" and may not be safe. So, I deleted it. So, since only 24.0 is in the Add and Remove programs, can I conclude it's the only one actively running? Also, does the 24.0 work on both the C and E Drives? Please advise. Thanks much for your fast response. :o) GoldenGirl147

You should only be using Firefox 24, Firefox 16 is insecure and not support anymore.
