I am having a problem with two drop-down boxes that do not drop away as they are supposed to. One stays on top og the other.
In Quantim Encoder, there are two drop down boxes that come up, one when you click on the Coding/Abstracting tab. And one when when you click on code books. And neither of them works when you click on a heading.I also have saved a screen shot, but there is no way to attach it here.

If you can't click on controls or set focus to an element then a possible cause is that another element is overlaying that part of the screen.
You can try to use the build-in Inspector or the DOM Inspector extension to see if you can identify the culprit.
Maybe using the Tab key allows to focus that element.
