On WinXP SP3

At home I run Firefox 7 but do NOT use MS Office. Firefox 7 runs with no problems.

At work we use MS Office 2003. After several tests I found out running Firefox 7, with Outlook 2003 open, Firefox hangs or crashes when opening another tab from links in almost any site.

When I reinstalled Firefox 6 the problem goes away. I CAN run Outlook 2003 and Firefox 6 with out Firefox crashing.

So what's going on?

NOTE: This question is being posted from my home which uses Firefox 7, so the browser info is wrong for the stated problem.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems. See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

Thanks, but it's not worth the trouble. I'll just stay with Firefox 6 at work.

You should always use Firefox 3.6.23 or 7.0.1 for security and stability issue, downgrading is not suggested..:|
