I have Sun Java JRE 6 update 10. I use Firefox 3.6. When I'm using this link to test if firefox is seeing java I got a black screen in the applet screen http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml

You said that this JRE version is supported with Firefox 3.6 but it seems not working with me. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

The minimum requirement is for Java 6 update 15, see Use the Java plugin to view interactive content on websites

According yo this that new plugin is included in Java 6 U10 and higher: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp#jdk (you need JRE) [[NOTE]: The Firefox 3.6 browser requires Java SE 6 Update 10 or later. Otherwise, Java-based web applications will not work.

Of course it is never recommended to use outdated Java plugin because of security risks.

I was having problems with Javascript when I visited a website. I downloaded and automatically installed the latest version for my operating system and everything works fine.
